BetMGM is introducing an industry-first to its U.S. market: the PlayPause tool.
In order to help gamblers control their bankroll and prevent bad habits, BetMGM is implementing a software for their casino and sportsbook bettors. Aptly named PlayPause, this tool will assist gamblers in greater control over how they spend their time and money.
What is PlayPause?
PlayPause was designed by Geocomply, and is being adopted by GVC and introduced to the U.S. through BetMGM
GVC has recently enacted a sustainability charter, whereby they will donate $133m to responsible gambling groups within the next five years.
Shay Segev, the CEO of GVC, is clearly excited about the new initiative: “We are delighted to be the first official partner of PlayPause. We believe the most responsible operator will be the most successful operator, and PlayPause’s innovative, multi-state approach to responsible gaming in the US aligns with our firm commitment to providing our customers with the safest and most enjoyable experience possible.”
Anna Sainsbury, GeoComply Chairman and Co-Founder, is very positive about the implications of PlayPause for the wider iGaming community: “PlayPause is not only an important compliance tool, but a way we can unite the industry and regulators to deepen their shared commitment to responsible gaming and consumer protection.”
Inter-state Care
PlayPause will enact a player’s self-imposed limits across state lines. This is a major accomplishment because the casinos in different states are independent and not in communication over a player’s data.
With PlayPause, the limit you give yourself in New Jersey would also hold in Pennsylvania.
