One of the biggest online casino game providers is getting bigger.
On April 12, Evolution Gaming announced they agreed to acquire Big Time Gaming, a leading online slot machine developer.
According to a news release from Evolution, the total consideration of the agreement is for 450 million Euros, payable in cash and shares.
Evolution Gaming is one of the world leaders in live dealer games, and it was the first operator to launch regulated live casino games in New Jersey. Along with providing classic table games like roulette and blackjack, Evolution Gaming has also developed variant games like Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Lightning Roulette, and Dream Catcher, one of the few studio games to feature a bonus wheel.
Currently, Evolution Gaming provides live dealer casinos for many New Jersey online casinos, including 888 Casino, Hard Rock Casino, Unibet Casino, Resorts Casino, DraftKings Online Casino, Mohegan Sun, and Scores Casino.
The agreement means they will now have a strong foothold on developing cutting-edge slot machines through Big Time Gaming. The latter’s titles include favorites like Bonanza, Extra Chilli, and the popular game mechanic Megaways, which is incorporated in over 200 games from multiple providers.
“With the addition of Big Time Gaming to our portfolio of slot brands we strengthen our strategic position as the leading provider of digital casino games in the world,” Jens von Bahr, Evolution chairman, said in a statement. “Big Time’s focus on innovation and creating unique playing experiences is a great fit with our culture and mind-set at Evolution. We look forward to continuing our journey together.”
According to the statement, completing the agreed-upon transaction is conditional upon regulatory approvals and is expected in the second quarter of 2021.
The agreement brings together two forces of online casino game providers in the industry: Big Time Gaming provides slot machines to more than 350-plus providers worldwide, and Evolution Gaming provides games to over 500 operators.
