Why should I use a roulette betting strategy?

Online roulette relies on random outcomes, so there is no need to follow a strategy, right? Wrong. If you want to boost your chances in this game, you should consider a basic online roulette strategy that can guide you while playing.

This can help you master the types of bets to play and help you pick the right bets to use.

Can one roulette strategy to win ensure me a victory?

A roulette strategy will not guarantee a win the next time you play at your favorite NJ online casino. But the best roulette strategy can help you compare different types of bets, their payouts, and odds.

It also serves as your guide in deciding the size of the bet to play on the next round. Finally, it helps you reduce the specific game’s house edge, thus boosting your chance at a payout.

So… Why actually play using roulette strategies?

You are better prepared to play the game and enjoy it in the long run if you have a strategy in place. It also puts you in a more advantageous position since you have a betting plan that helps reduce the game’s advantage.

Most popular roulette strategies

Aside from learning the game’s objective, it is equally important to know the different types of roulette strategies available. These strategies offer guidance on how to place your bets depending on your risk level or skill level.

The most widely used betting strategies are the Martingale, Fibonacci, D’ Alembert, and the James Bond roulette strategy. Some of these strategies suggest increasing your bet after a win or even after a loss, and some rely on more complex formulas!

It is best to familiarize yourself with the different betting strategies available and pick what is best for your risk level.

1. Martingale strategy

The Martingale betting strategy is the most popular approach used by casino players. In this strategy, you just increase your wager after losing. The principle here is that you can quickly recover what you have lost when you finally win.

We can better explain this strategy using a familiar game called ‘Heads and Tails,’ and let’s use a unit bet of $1 and $10 as a bankroll.

First Game bet First Game resultFirst game money wagerBudget amount
TailsHeads1$9
Game betSecond Game resultMoney wagerBudget amount
Tails Heads2$8
Game betThird Game result Game money wagerBudget amount
TailsTails3$11

2. Reverse Martingale strategy

The Reverse Martingale is one of the oldest betting strategies and requires the player to double the wager after winning. The player starts with a base bet in this betting strategy, and Conti continues betting until you win. Once the player wins, he needs to double the bet. This continues until you lose around.

We can use the same game, ‘Heads and Tails,’ and the budget to explain the betting process:

First Game bet First Game resultFirst game money wagerBudget amount
HeadsTails1$9
Game betSecond Game resultMoney wagerBudget amount
HeadsHeads2$11
Game betThird Game result Game money wagerBudget amount
HeadsTails1$10

3. Fibonacci strategy

The Fibonacci roulette strategy is called a negative progressive betting system that relies on the popular Mathematical concept- the Fibonacci:

1 – 1 – 2 – 3 – 5 – 8 – 13 – 21 and so on

It is used by roulette players who want bigger wagers when winning than when losing.

In the Fibonacci strategy, you continue betting based on the series if you are losing. Once you win, you go back two numbers and use it as the base bet.

Let us use the same game and budget to explain this online roulette strategy further:

First Game bet First Game resultFirst game money wagerBudget amount
HeadsTails1$9
Game betSecond Game resultMoney wagerBudget amount
HeadsTails1$8
Game betThird Game result Game money wagerBudget amount
HeadsTails2$6

4. The D’Alembert Roulette Strategy

In the D’Alembert roulette betting strategy, you need to identify first a base wager and increase your wager by one unit after a losing round. Once you collect a win, you just decrease your bet by one unit.

To fully understand this strategy, let us use the previous example using the game, ‘Heads or Tails’:

First Game bet First Game resultFirst game money wagerBudget amount
TailsHeads 1$9
Game betSecond Game resultMoney wagerBudget amount
TailsHeads2$7
Game betThird Game result Game money wagerBudget amount
HeadsHeads3$10

5. Contra D’Alembert System

For the conservative players who want to manage their potential losses, then we recommend the Contra D’Alembert betting strategy. It works as a positive progression betting system that requires the player to increase the wager after winning and reduce it after a loss.

Again, we will use the same game with the same unit bet and bankroll:

First Game bet First Game resultFirst game money wagerBudget amount
HeadsHeads1$11
Game betSecond Game resultMoney wagerBudget amount
HeadsHeads2$13
Game betThird Game result Game money wagerBudget amount
HeadsTails3$10

6. The James Bond Betting Strategy

In the James Bond betting strategy, you need to set 20 units of stake. You will then place these bets on specific sections on the table. The objective here is to bet on as many outcomes as possible to generate profit. If you are planning to use this approach in roulette betting, then you should consider the following steps:

  1. Set your base bet.
  2. Wager all 14 units on outside bets from 19 to 36 which comes with a payout of 1:1.
  3. Your five units should be on the inside roulette bets, the 6-line bet.
  4. The remaining unit is on a single number that pays 35:1.

7. Fisher roulette strategy

This is an online roulette bet that the player focuses on even-money bets, like a bet on red/black or odd/even. In the Fisher roulette betting strategy, you continue wagering on even-money bets and only adjust when you make a loss.

Again, we will use our previous examples to illustrate the principle behind the Fisher roulette strategy:

First Game bet First Game resultFirst game money wagerBudget amount
HighHigh $1$11
Game betSecond Game resultMoney wagerBudget amount
RedRed$1$12
Game betThird Game result Game money wagerBudget amount
OddOdd$1$13

8. Labouchere System

The Labouchere betting system is one of the more creative roulette strategies used. Again, this is an example of a negative progression betting system where you increase your bet after losing.

Although it looks easy, it is more complex than other negative progression betting systems.

Here, you need to identify a sequence of numbers. Many roulette players recommend using the primary sequence- 1,2, and 3. The sum of the series (which is $6) represents the potential profit in each cycle. It should be equalized to the first and last numbers (1 and 3). If the bet wins, remove these two numbers. If you lose the round, add the amount wagered to the end of the number sequence.

In the Labouchere system, you cross out the numbers if you win. And if you lose, just add the number (bet amount) to the end of the sequence. Your next bet is the sum of the first and last numbers.

If only one number remains, that becomes your next bet.

TailsHeads$4$6
Game betSecond Game resultMoney wagerBudget amount
TailsTails$5$11
Game betThird Game result Game money wagerBudget amount

9. Reverse Labouchere System

This betting strategy is just the opposite of the Labouchere. It is a positive progression betting system where you increase your wager after winning the original Labouchere; you begin with a sequence of numbers whose sum acts as the potential profit for that betting cycle.

First Game bet First Game resultFirst game money wagerBudget amount
Tails Tails$4$14

HeadsHeads$2$13

10. Andrucci System

If you are after a more entertaining betting style, then we recommend the Andrucci betting system. Before you bet, you need to observe first the outcomes of the first 30 rounds and watch out for the hot numbers.

Then, you just wager on the hottest straight-up bet and stick with this until the 25th spin or until you win, whichever comes first. Once you hit the target, you just restart the system.

11. Paroli System

Many roulette players in New Jersey also use the Paroli betting system. This is a positive progressive betting system where you need to double your bet after winning, and it is recommended on even-money bets. In Paroli, you need to stop betting after collecting three wins.
