Atlantic City Land-based Casinos Plan Major Upgrades for 2023

The final 2022 revenue numbers revealed that land-based casinos in Atlantic City are finally recovering after the pandemic. In December 2022, these casinos generated revenue of $215.6 million, the highest seen in 10 years, and 9% growth compared to 2021

The Casino Association of New Jersey (CANJ) announced significant renovations for the year ahead. The announcement included multiple AC casinos, aiming to deliver the most impressive customer experience

President of the Casino Association of New Jersey, Mark Giannantonio, said: 

As we move into a new year, Atlantic City casinos are committed to providing the best possible experience for our customers, which includes making significant investments that will continue to solidify Atlantic City’s position as a world-class resort destination with top-notch dining, shopping and entertainment offerings.

The Biggest Changes to Experience at Land-based Casinos in Atlantic City  

Already underway, Bally’s invests over $100 million to renovate multiple sections of the casino and hotel, including the 360-degree bar that will continuously rotate for the most spectacular views. Among the plans, visitors will also experience the new indoor/outdoor beer garden and multiple upgrades to the casino experience, including unique slots, promotions, rewards, and benefits. 

Caesars Entertainment plans to upgrade multiple casino and hotel properties in Atlantic City, mainly applied to the flagship Caesars Casino and Hotel. Later in 2023, visitors can enjoy the new Nobu Hotel, which is taking over the three top floors of the Centurion Tower. The Nobu will also debut the all-new Gordon Ramsey Hell’s Kitchen Restaurant

Caesars Entertainment also announced multiple upgrades to the Tropicana Atlantic City casino. Having establishing numerous new restaurants last year, the new upgrades will revolve mainly around the casino floor in 2023. It’s said to be the first “casino of the future”, offering a complete renovated experience with new ways to win

Even though Ocean Casino Resort is one of the newer brands in AC, it’s ranked third with total 2022 revenue settling just under $30 million, revealing an increase of 11.3%. Multiple renovations and upgrades to the value of $85 million will introduce the Gallery Bar Book and Games sportsbook, Serendipity3, A new Starbucks, and the Bottled Wind, Spirits, and Tasting. 

Hard Rock Casino is planning to improve the live entertainment area with multiple shows lined up for 2023. The $30 million upgrades will set the casino up as the leader in headline entertainment, presenting popular performers such as Def Leppard, Billy Strings, The Killers, and more. 

What the New Upgrades Will Bring to Atlantic City 

In the last few years, casinos spent over $1 billion in upgrades and renovations. The new plans will continue to make AC a popular entertainment destination and a strong competitor as the possibilities of New York casinos edge closer. 

Mark Giannantonio also added:
