The New Jersey online casino market continues to show its strength with another record-breaking month in July 2021, bringing in total revenue of $118.7 million.
Thanks, in part, to land-based casinos reopening, total gambling revenue in NJ amounted to $450.6 million for July 2021, an overall increase of 70.4% compared to July of last year.
The big revenue winner for online casinos this month was online slots, bringing in $115.6 million. Meanwhile, online poker saw a decrease in revenue, down 36.2% to $3.1 million.
Jane Bokunewicz, director of the Lloyd Levenson Institute at Stockton University, stated that “This could show that patrons have not lost their appetite for internet gaming products even as they return to the in-person gaming experience, or that more people overall are participating in different gaming options.”
Most analysts predict that NJ’s market will continue to see steady growth throughout 2021. So far, online casinos have seen continued month-to-month growth this year.
Jason Lim, Ainsworth General Manager - Online, released a statement saying, “We’re honored to be partnering with a prestigious operator like Caesars. This launch furthers our presence in the New Jersey market, and we’re thrilled to be live with our latest games on the Caesars sites. We are confident the tremendous math models and fun play mechanics will be successful and provide an entertaining experience for Caesars' players.
